Middle School Students Gear Up for SkillsUSA State Competition

A total of 14 students from Byrd and Kennemer middle schools are preparing for the SkillsUSA State Conference held April 4-7 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

 

SkillsUSA helps students in career and technical education excel in leadership skills, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and occupational skills to ensure that the country has a skilled workforce. Competitive events fall into three categories: leadership development, skilled and technical sciences, and job exhibits. State competition events include Prepared Speech, Pin Design, Job Skill Demonstration and more.
