Hundreds of Duncanville High School students learned about
college and military opportunities at the annual DHS College Night event on
Wednesday, September 23. College representatives traveled from as far away as
Tennessee and Florida to help students prepare for life after high school.
More than 50 Texas universities were also at the event,
including Baylor University, Texas A&M University, Southern Methodist
University and Texas Tech University. Students who are looking to enlist in the
military had the opportunity to speak with recruiters from the Marines, Army,
Navy and National Guard.
DHS counselors will be visiting with students in the coming
weeks to discuss information about scholarships, financial aid and how to apply
to college. All 10th and 11th grade students will receive
a copy of the 2015-2016 Counselor Handbook during classroom guidance.
