Students Bury Time Capsule at New Acton Elementary

Duncanville Independent School District celebrated the construction of the new Acton Elementary School with the burial of a time capsule on Tuesday, February 16. Students and teachers from Acton Elementary School created a memory book containing pictures and signatures and placed it the time capsule along with other mementos from the school’s history.

The new Acton Elementary School, funded by a $102.545 million bond passed in 2014, will replace the aging campus originally built in 1978. The campus will serve pre-Kindergarten through 5th grades with room to accommodate future growth. Construction is underway with the building scheduled to be complete in January 2017.
