When Hastings Elementary students and staff walk out the door in a couple of weeks after school ends, they will never see their beloved campus the same. All school activities are moving just a few feet east into a new building and the old one will be torn down this summer.
Voters overwhelmingly approved a $102.545 million bond in November 2014, making it possible for the Hastings family to call a new building home when they return to school in August. To say farewell to the original Hastings, which was built in 1968, administrators have planned activities for the last full week of school.
