Seth Sikes, an eighth grader from Byrd Middle School, correctly answered the most questions to win Duncanville ISD’s district geographic bee. Seth is now a two-time district geo bee champion. Brandenburg sixth grader Bronson Hooper took home second place. Daniel sixth grader Matthew Herrera finished in third place.
Campus winners from each school, including Seth, have to take online assessments to determine whether they move on to the State Geographic Bee in March. Last year, Seth advanced to the state geographic bee, and he hopes to do the same again this year. Students who win their state competitions compete at the National Geographic Bee in May.
