Student Named Top Photographer in Dallas Morning News Contest

Brenda Arana She’s a presence at virtually every Duncanville High School event, and she has the award-winning photos to prove it.

Brenda Arana recently learned she was selected as the top photographer in the Dallas Morning News high school journalism contest. Brenda, a senior at DHS, won gold and silver medals for Feature Photography and her overall photo portfolio was selected as the best from nearly 300 entries in the contest.

“I am very proud of Brenda,” said DHS Media Teacher James Rich.  “She is a hard worker and it shows as she always has winning photos and knows how to capture great moments.”

Brenda’s photo will be featured in the Dallas Morning News later this month.  This is the third consecutive year that Duncanville has won the photo portfolio category.
