The Duncanville Independent School Board of Trustees is searching for a new Superintendent of Schools. Together, David Thompson, an education law attorney from the firm Thompson and Horton, and Dr. Mike Moses, a former Texas Commissioner of Education, are aiding the school Board in searching for a replacement.
The Duncanville ISD Board is committed to a transparent process that encourages feedback from everyone in the community. As part of this process, the Board seeks input on the qualities the community would like to see in the next Superintendent.
On January 22, 2024, Thompson and Horton representatives met with the Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees to discuss the superintendent search. The following day, the position was posted on the Texas Association of School Administrators, TexasISD.com, and other appropriate national educational publications (Education Week and American Association of School Administrators) as a means of advertising the vacancy.
Outstanding individuals who are known to have the prerequisite skills for the superintendency in the Duncanville Independent School District began receiving letters of invitation to apply.
This preliminary timeline assumes that a new superintendent for the Duncanville Independent School District will be on duty by July 1, 2024.
